The season is for sharing joy and happiness with your loved ones. The Birth of Jesus marks the beginning of an entirely new era and has changed the world for many forever. The cold winter winds, the Christmas tree, the lights and stars and the decorated churches and homes across, created a magnificent vibe. Even in this cold, there is something warm and comforting about this season. This is followed by the new year, a chance to live the beauty of life by letting go of the bad and embracing the good. 

On this occasion, many of us give each other gifts that we cherish. Every moment is joyous and satisfying. An entire year has gone by and there is a lot to be grateful for and a lot to do to get closer to success in the year that lies ahead. However, let us all make use of this positive time for transformation and welcome new beginnings with the wisdom we have earned from our previous years.

Gratitude is that feeling of gratefulness that helps you realise the value of all that you have with you. This feeling of thankfulness is the secret to attracting more things, that you can be grateful for today and forever. As you inculcate gratitude in your everyday life you bring in more positivity for yourself and towards your relationship with others. It is also noticed in various research articles in psychology and mindfulness that as one practises gratitude they tend to improve cognitively and behaviourally in their personal lives as well. This is the power of gratitude, the more grateful you are, the more occasions you get to be grateful for. So be grateful for every small and big thing that has happened this year, for this can welcome an enormous amount of success in your life.

By feeling grateful and expressing gratitude, you are actually getting rid of greed. The forever need to want something else always keeps us away from the joy of contentment. So, the true power of gratitude keeps you away from the deep ocean of greed.

  1. Forgive and Forget

This is definitely the hardest thing for a person to do. The reason why it feels hard is that it gives the person an enormous sense of relief when they forgive and forget. Forgiving lets go of anger, anxiety and negative thoughts while forgetting lets go of feelings of vengeance and unpleasantness. Remember how they say that the best things are the hardest to achieve? Forgiving and forgetting is definitely one of those. Hence, make the effort to do so. Do not walk into the new year with regrets and bad memories, heal yourself mentally and get over the bad stuff. 

Bad memories often tend to drag us down. They hold the tendency to make things worse for you and also trouble our near and dear ones. To transform yourself and forgive all the people. You can ring them, type out a message or mail it to them or even meet them in person and solve it, but do it!

  1. Change 

Change is the only constant. Every year there are some resolutions we make and there are a whole lot of people that do not follow them for more than a month. This is demotivating and takes us back to who we were in the previous year. We are all smart people here, we know what we lack and we know how to tackle it. We only find it hard to do it regularly. Here’s a suggestion, the 21-day plan. It is often said that what is continuously practised for 21 days will stick around for a longer time, preferably forever. Just think that your new routine or your new health care regime is only for 21 days, not a very long period right? You will not realize when the 21 days ended. 

The world and the situation around us seek that we change. We cannot afford to be the same people with the same flaws forever. Sooner or later this is going to cost us a lot. Hence, use this time to plan and implement to get closer to who you are and make this world a better place for all of the people around you, starting from your housemates, family and friends. 

These three tips can surely help you welcome the year with joy and can help you see everything in a new light. We all are tangled in some or the another problem. That is the true nature of life, we all have to sacrifice a few things and compromise to sail through the journey of life. Some of us have financial issues, while some have health issues, some have relationship issues and some have work problems or other personal problems. Let us remember that all of us have these problems. The only thing we need to do is to have compassion towards each other and make this world a better place for us. The three tips stated above will help you look beyond yourself and enjoy the new year with a new sense of fulfilment and purpose.
