  1. Controlled breathing- What we call as, “Pranayama” is the most powerful tool of Yoga. As our cortisol levels increase due to stress, so does our heartbeat. Some people, palpitate, shiver, sweat or even have cases of tremors. In such situations, it is necessary to have control of your breathing. Practising controlled breathing through Pranayama helps you in calming the stress stimulus and washes over with a balanced state of mind.
  2. Meditation– Practising Meditation, helps you in calming your nerves and makes us realise that we are in control of our body and not the other way around. Practising meditation improves self-awareness, self-esteem and reduces anxiety. Meditation is often suggested to help people fighting substance abuse. 
  3. Mindfulness– Mindfulness is a practise suggested to be aware of your surroundings. Through this practice, people are generally more respective and aware of the environment they are living in. Mindfulness can be practised through any of your daily activities, without any hindrances. The best part of this also includes, that instead of taking a break from what you are doing, you become rather attentive of what you are doing, which helps in bringing self-awareness. 
  4. Yoga asanas– Yoga asanas should usually be suggested to individuals after some expert guidance. Simple asanas could be practised at home and started by ourselves. However, like every other medicine you take for your health, you need to speak to an expert on what to follow to help yourself. For instance, what a woman might normally follow on regular days may or may not be followed while she is pregnant. Hence, it is always suggestible to talk to an expert on what asanas you must follow.
