The first step in achieving success in life is to know your goals, and the second step is to understand why you want to achieve these goals. These two steps give you clarity on what you want to pursue. Are these 2 steps enough? No. They are not enough to achieve your goals. Even the greatest of the visions are useless unless we execute them. So, the next key ingredient in achieving your goals is your action plan. Your action plan defines the actions you need to perform to achieve your goals.

So, what are your actions steps to achieve your goals? What is your strategy? Having the right strategy in place plays an important role in achieving your goals. Your strategy should be such that you should be able to work on your goals on busy days as well, and achieve your goals. Busy nature of life should not be an obstacle to achieve your goal. Your strategy should help you stay consistent and achieve results.

Say, for example, your goal is to lose 10 kgs in 1 year. And your reason is you want to look great, feel happy, and be healthy. It’s good so far. Now, your action steps will decide whether you can actually achieve your goal or not in 1 year. If you have a goal in place but don’t plan to do anything about it or take action randomly without much planning, you cannot achieve it even after 10 years. The key is to have a Massive Action Plan in place for your goals. What does a Massive Action Plan mean? It is an action plan which lists down all the action steps you will take to achieve your goal. It is an action plan built by you, from the bottom of your heart, to achieve your goal.

Below are 10 steps for building your action plan.

1.Create your goal for next quarter based on your yearly goal. So, if your goal is to lose 10 kgs in 1 year, it becomes 2.5 Kgs weight loss in the next quarter.

2.List down all the action steps you know, which you need to take, to achieve your quarterly goal of 2.5 Kgs weight loss.

3.Your action plan need not be perfect. It evolves into perfection as you progress. Start off with whatever action steps, you know.

4.Once you have listed every action step, which helps you achieve your quarterly goal, put them under 3 to 5 categories. Let me explain to you here with an example. For example, say your action plan for weight loss has below steps

5. Once you have a quarterly action plan, create your weekly plan. Pick up all the action items which you intend to follow in this week.

6. For each action item you picked up for this week, calculate the amount of time you need to invest per day to make it happen.

7. Once you know the total amount of time you need to invest, schedule the specific time in your day. For example, if yoga class takes 1 hour of time, schedule the particular time at which you intend to practice yoga. Unless you schedule your action steps, there are high chances you will not follow them. So, make it a point to schedule all your action steps. Scheduling is extremely important to achieve your goals.

8. Once you have scheduled each action item at a particular time of your day, practice the action item at that time of the day.

9. From your action items list, prioritize action items that you MUST do to get your result. In life, 80% of results come from 20% of your action items. So pick up those must action items and calculate the total time.

10. On the days you are busy and when you cannot give full time you planned, plan to put in the time needed for MUST action items. Schedule these MUST action items on busy days so that you still keep working your goal even when life is hectic and fast-paced.

This is how you can plan your strategy for any of your goals. Your end result depends on the right strategy – a strategy that makes it easy for you to follow your action items. Many of us randomly create a goal and plan to do things without much planning due to which we cannot sustain the action steps for a long period. We give up after a point of time, and we think we don’t have enough willpower to achieve our goals. But more than will power, what is important is the right strategy – a strategy that works for your schedule, a strategy that helps you stay consistent. The above strategy is an example of one such strategy that helps you achieve any of your goals.

You can achieve anything in life with the right strategy. So, take the time out and create the right strategy that helps you achieve your goals. Dream big and achieve all your goals! Sky’s the limit!

Wishing you peace and happiness.
